The 2013 Summer Reading Program at the Bellingham Public Library is sponsored by the Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation, the Friends of the Bellingham Public Library, the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

The Summer Reading Program runs from Monday, June 24 through Thursday, August 15. The big kick-off program will be Monday, June 24 at 7:00pm at the Bellingham High School auditorium with an awesome family show: Alex the Jester! There is no cost to attend the program and no registration is necessary. If you are looking for a fun family event, stop by!

Additionally, there will be over 100 children’s programs during the eight weeks of the summer reading program for children of all ages. These programs include story times, crafts, book clubs, family events, and performances ranging from musicians to storytellers to dinosaur fossils to animal programs and more! There’s something for everyone. Many of these programs require registration. Click here to register for programs.

You can win prizes at the library just for visiting us! Here’s how. Also, when you’re looking for a book to read this summer, it might be a good idea to check your school’s summer reading list first.

Finally, the Pawtucket Red Sox have graciously offered every participant of the Bellingham Library’s summer reading program a free ticket to the Pawtucket Red Sox game on August 20. Before the game, all summer reading participants will be honored during an on-field ceremony! A child will be considered a summer reading participant the first time s/he trades in their pirate coins for a prize.
