KICK-OFF: Alex the Jester (at High School)
Monday, June 24 at 7:00pm—Families
It’s easy to imagine a court jester – the colorful trickster with bells jingling from his floppy hat. But have you ever seen one perform in real time? Alex the Jester prefers action to words, from mind bending sight gags to amazing stunts. He has performed at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, The Singapore Arts Festival, Japan’s World Performance Festival, and theaters from Alaska to Australia. No registration required. Program will take place at Bellingham High School auditorium. Don’t miss it!

Davis & Roger: Earth Rythyms* (Families)

Davis Bates and Roger Tincknell have both received Parents’ Choice awards for their most recent recordings. This family musical program is made possible with a grant from the Bellingham Cultural Council. Registration begins on June 19 for Bellingham residents and Friends of the Bellingham Library. Open registration begins on June 26.

Stuffed Animal Vet Checkup (All ages)

It is time for your stuffed animal’s annual check-up. Bring in your stuffed animal to make sure she/he/it is healthy!! One stuffed animal per child, please. No registration; drop in!

Fancy Nancy* (All ages)

Come on, kids! Get fancy and come to the library for this superific fun Fancy Nancy program! There will be a story, a craft, Fancy Nancy activities and a chance for you to walk the Red Carpet!

Paulette Morin: Fossils & Dinosaurs* (Families)
Thursday, July 18 at 6:30pm
Dressed for digging, fossil hunter Paulette Morin introduces children to the wonders of dinosaurs and our prehistoric past. This presentation touches on the who, what, where and when of the dinosaurs. With more than 100 fossil specimens and enthusiastic storytelling, children and parents will be sure to learn and have fun.  Registration begins on June 27 for Bellingham residents and Friends of the Bellingham Library. Open registration begins on July 3.

Pirate Party* (All ages)
Monday, July 22 from 6:30pm-7:30pm
Get yer pirate booty to the library for a party even if you have to walk the plank! Who knows, there may even be a treasure hunt. Pirate costumes are definitely encouraged.

Buzz Lightyear Meet & Greet* (Families)
Thursday, July 25 at 10:30am
This program, brought to us by Start U Reading, will include a story and short skit before children get a chance to take pictures with Buzz. Registration begins on July 3 for Bellingham residents and Friends of the Bellingham Library. Open registration begins on July 10. Those who are on the waiting list for the story time may stop by around 11:00am in order to meet Buzz Lightyear, even if space does not allow them to attend the story time.

The Wonder Underground* (Families)
Monday, July 29 at 7:00pm
Story Teller and Folksinger Tim Van Egmond’s performance will weave together stories and songs about digging, gardening, and subterranean adventures.  Recommended for ages 4 and up.

H2Olympics* (All ages)
Thursday, August 1 from 2:00pm-3:00pm
If you want to get wet, this is the place to be! There will be lots of water and games and fun!

Skippyjon Jones Meet & Greet* (Families)

Skippyjon Jones will be here for two Meet & Greets.  It will be a FIESTA! Meet our favorite Chihuahua—or Siamese cat! Registration begins on July 12 for Bellingham residents and members of the Friends of the Bellingham Library. Open registration begins July 19. If the program is full but you would like to meet Skippyjon Jones, feel free to drop by around 7:00pm for the Friday program and 11:00am for the Monday program. Make sure to bring your camera!

Touch a Truck (Families)
Thursday, August 8 from 10:00am-11:00am
Trucks + library = fun! See some big trucks up close – including a fire truck and a variety from the town’s Public Works Department and more. No registration necessary.

Can You Dig It?* (Families)

Animal World Experience is back – this time with their program, Can You Dig It? These crafty critters give the saying “down to earth” a whole new meaning! Come learn the reasons why so many different animals dig, and the various ways they do it. Also, there will be time for petting at the end. Registration begins on July 23 for Bellingham residents and Friends of the Bellingham Public Library. Open registration begins on July 30.

Tap into your inner writer with this four week workshop run by author and story teller Marjorie Turner Hollman. Each week will have different writing exercises and prompts to help you become a better creative writer. Bring a notebook!

The newest book of the Origami Yoda series comes out today – The Surprise Attack of Jabba the Puppet! Learn how to make Jabba and other Star Wars origami characters. Also, one lucky participant will go home with a copy of the new book to KEEP!
