Circle Time: Pet Cats
Meet Meow. She is the library’s pet cat. Do you have a pet cat? Passing around Meow the cat puppet, each child told Meow his/her name and if s/he has a cat at home. 15 children said they did and 11 said they did not.

Activity: Meow Says
This game is kind of like Simon Says, except we don’t have Simon; we have Meow! The kids needed to put on their listening ears and follow the directions that Meow said…but make sure Meow is saying it!

Activity: Pass Meow
Back in a circle again, we passed Meow around to the song Three Little Kittens. Make sure you are not holding Meow when the music stops!
Story: Cat and Mouse: The Hole Story (by Christyan and Diane Fox)
Craft: Chalk Shadow Cats
Each child used white and colored chalk to color in the silhouette of a black cat. Also, children were able to do a cat connect the dots and color it in using crayons.
